Civil ReviewThe Civil Review (CR) is a quarterly periodical that was started in Hungary, 2004. The periodical is a real civic initiative: the founder editors – well known and key experts, researchers, NGO leaders – realized that there was a massive demand for the distribution of high quality studies focusing on civil society and NGO sector related issues. Since 2004, fifteen issues have been published. The periodical focuses on the theoretical problems of the third sector and civil society. CR publishes so called „community studies” that are scientific but are also easy to understand in order to reach university researchers, interested intellectuals as well as NGO leaders or volunteers. From the very beginning the editors’ long-term vision is to launch "CEE Civil Review" as well because CEE countries can learn a lot from each other, as they have common issues, problems and could exchange best practices. The periodical has different columns:

General Studies on CEE countries For Our AuthorsCivil Review is a professional journal, which publishes scientific analyses and reviews. All submitted articles, which match the journal’s character, will be judged by the editorial office with the assistance of experts. All papers should be unpublished, original and should not be under the review of another journal. As our journal is included into the international citation index, the submitted paper’s format has to comply with the following instructions:
– If the author’s name of the quoted work appears in the text, then the year of publication and, if necessary, the pages numbers should follow the name in brackets. For example: Pokol (2004: 75) – In other cases (for example: quotation, etc.), the author’s name, the year of the publication and if necessary, the quoted page numbers should be in brackets; for example: (Malinowski 1979: 35). Please avoid references like: “OP.cit.” and “Loc.cit.”
– book: Author(s) (the year of publication): Title. Place of publication: Publisher’s name; example: Hoe Kázmér (1999): Well-making. Budapest: Ásatag Publisher. – journal article: Author(s) (Year of publication): Title of article. Number of Volume, (Issue): the first and last page number; for example: Gardener Kelemen (1999): How Should We Spray? Nursery, 25 (2): 23–35. – article in an omnibus edition: Author’s name (year of publication): Title of article. IN Editor of the omnibus edition: Title of the volume. Place of publication, Name of the publisher, first and last page number of the quoted work. Example: Spray Béla (1999): What Is The Garden Good For?. In Mole B. Béla (szerk.): Let’s Do Gardening! Budapest: Gardener Publisher, 89–101.
